This review is from: KidCo Angle-Mount Safeway Gate (Baby Product) I bought two (2) of these one for the top and one for the bottom of the stairs. My one year old uses them as his own personal jungle gyms and they hold up well but, the gates were extremely complicated to install. I'm pretty handy, I have built houses for years, and I'm also proficient with electrical installations, plumbing, heating and finish carpentry. Normally I'd expect a project like this to take no more than 15 minutes and the second gate should be easier than the first. What I found was that it took me a solid hour to get the gate into a functioning state and another 30 minutes to adjust to a final working state. They are overpriced for the quality, e.g. I bought the black gates to mimic a wrought iron look as my house is well over 100 years old. The hardware provided is nickel instead of black powder coated so it stands out ands looks shoddy. Ledbetter "The Engineer" (Memphrica) - See all my reviews    No.... not that kind of backwards.... I mean mix the directions around. Instead of connecting the two pieces of the gate together leave them separate until the very end. Make sure and MEASURE THE OPENING FIRST to make sure the final gate will fit. Then use the templates, install the hardware into the walls (dont forget to put the locks in on the unlatching side so the gate swings the correct way), put the plastic corner pieces on the gate so you can attach it to the hardware(dont tighten the slides all the way). Now all you have left are the 2 upper and 2 bottom parts that lock the two gate pieces together. You didnt tighten the gate slides yet did you... great... then swing both sides of the gate to the closed position and adjust the slides until the gate matches up. Install the upper and lower plastic pieces that lock the gate together. Once they are tight, tighten up the sliding hardware, and your ready to go. It's an excellent and sturdy gate that can be installed in places where other gates won't work. It was tricky to install but I would attribute that more to the fact that we were installing it in a place with a very challenging angle (diagonally across the hall at the top of the stairs)than to anything about the gate itself. This was the only gate we could find that would do the trick and I feel very secure that my little one is safe. Product Description

The Angle-Mount Safeway Gate is an extension of the series rated number one for the top of a stairs by a leading independent consumer organization.

This Safeway has Angle-Mount hardware that allows the gate to be installed in any position, including angled banisters and walls.

Features include: one hand, adult operated walk though gate; Angle-Mount hardware system; Quick release hardware for easy gate removal; and durable steel construction. It stands 31in high making it great for children and pets. Space between the bars range from approx. 2in to 2.25in.

Basic gate fits openings 28in - 42½in.
