If you can hang the gate, then you probably have enough skills to purchase these materials at homedepot for about 5 bucks and build your own...plus, you can customize it for your railing

I am not sure how many things can possibly be wrong with a single "product." Here is a list:

- The mounting method is intended so that the wood fits alongside existing iron rails between the top and bottom bar. This necessitates in a very short piece of wood - a better solution is to allow spanning across the top and bottom rails for maximum installation flexibility. How many total iron rails are going to work with this restrictive installation choice?

- U-bolts are too narrow, even while conforming to their "recommended" dimensions of the iron railing

- U-bolts are too SHORT, meaning you can NOT use wood spacers to achieve a vertical mounting surface, if, say, the top bar of your railing is winder (God forbid people should want to hold the railing as they descend or ascend the stairs)
